Hello, I am John Jay Ortiz owner of J’s legacy auto interiors.

As a small boy growing up in Venezuela and spending time in my father’s upholstery shop I grew fond of the type of work he was doing by making old tattered furniture look new again, it would be several years after my father’s passing that I was offered to work with one of his friends in a similar shop at the age of 15, and with that my career had begun.

After coming to the United States in 2001 I knew that I had found my new home luckily I had found a wonderful job at coach trim in Danbury and was given the opportunity to hone my craft on beautiful, exotic and antique automobiles.

A short time after that coach trim merged with Ai designs in New York and from there my skills were tested and taken places I never knew possible creating some of the most beautiful vehicles in the world.

Working for AI designs for 13 years I felt that I was ready to open my own shop first starting out in my garage and tiny basement crafting beautiful seats and interiors for some wonderful customers and now moved to a beautiful commercial space in New Milford, CT.

So my Fathers legacy continues.
